After finishing a weather update on BBC Breakfast, meteorologist Carol Kirkwood was caught off guard when presenters Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt began firing questions about Buckingham Palace at her. The BBC weather presenter kept answering “no” and deemed herself boring, to which Naga agreed.
Carol had just given her latest update on the forecast, having informed viewers that brighter skies could appear in the south towards the end of the week.
“We’re not going to be completely dry of course, because of the scenario of the temperatures rising – sparking some showers,” she said, before concluding: “but later in the week we’re going to something that little bit milder.”
She’d passed back to the studio fir Naga and Charlie to proceed with the show when Charlie asked: “Carol, question for you – on the many, many times that you’ve been to Buckingham Palace, did you take your own sandwiches?”
A confused-looking Carol replied: “No,” as Naga cut in to ask: “Did you take your own picnic basket?”
“No,” Carol repeated. Naga asked: “Did you sneak in a bottle of wine?” Once again, Carol said no.
“Are you going to offer us any information whatsoever Carol?” Charlie asked. “You’re just not playing ball here.”
“I’m really boring aren’t I?” Carol laughed, before Naga responded: “Yes!”
