EMMERDALE's Charity Dingle is to start an 'unconventional' relationship after Mack's baby bombshell.

Viewers of the long-running ITV soap will now the character, who is played by Emma Atkins, is embroiled in a scandal.


She is head over heels for her new husband Mack Boyd but recently got a huge shock.

Charity's world came crashing down when she shockingly discovered Mack has fathered a newborn baby.

Chloe Harris' son Reuben is the son of Mack's.

Chloe (portrayed by Jessie Elland) gave birth to a baby boy named Reuben after a hard pregnancy which involved her becoming homeless.

Luckily for her, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) welcomed her within her home, unaware that Chloe was pregnant with her partner's lovechild.

However, when Reuben was rushed to hospital, Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) struggled to keep his bond with Reuben a secret and Charity eventually put two and two together.

Next week on ITV, Mack's sister Moira Dingle (Natalie J. Robb) gets wind of his betrayal and pieces his months of lies together.

But it seems it may not play out like viewers expect, with actress Emma saying: "I have loved working with this guy [Lawrence], and Jessie as well, and I don't think that's going to end anytime soon because of how they're so all connected."

She continued to tell The Express: "There's going to be moments, okay, maybe their relationship is in tatters at the moment, but I think the beauty of soap is you've always got to bump into those people because you live in the same village unless, you know somebody leaves or moves out or kills somebody, but hopefully that's not gonna happen with those guys."

She added how the couple may decide to go down the route of couple's counselling to get things back on track.
