ITV2 fans brand new dating show The Cabins ‘trash’ but are ‘loving every minute’

Love Island is noticeably absent from our TV screens this year, but there's a new dating show in town.

The Cabins began on ITV 2 on Monday night and, almost immediately, those tuning in at home were already branding it "trash".

The brand new dating show sees a batch of singletons throw out the rule book and delete their dating apps as they attempt to find true love.

The first episode saw the contestants immediately move in together, as their date begins in their very own exclusive log cabins.

Having made it through the first 24 hours, they then have to decide if they would like to spend more time together – or call it a day and walk away.

Taking to Twitter, viewers tuning in had very strong opinions about the series from the get go.

"Why do I feel like this is gonna be trash but I'll watch until the end? #TheCabins," one person tweeted.

Another viewer posted: "Just when I thought #lockdown couldn’t get any worse I’ve started #TheCabins TRASH but il still watch (sic)."

A third added: "#TheCabins is already trash and I’m loving EVERY minute."

A fourth viewer commented: "Just the type of trash TV i need right now! #TheCabins."

Another person agreed and added: "I’m sure this will be absolute trash. Exactly what I need right now #TheCabins."

Viewers were also impressed with the fact that there is a same sex couple on the show.

Contestants Charlotte and Sarah were seen discussing their dating history as they got to know one another in their Otter’s Pocket cabin.

Sarah was heard saying: "Being gay, but not like your typical lesbian, I do often get girls that are kind of like, intrigued. I don’t want to be experimented on anymore, people quite evidently just want to get you into bed.

"I’ve never had something real. I’ve never had something where I’ve thought, ‘I’m going to be able to marry you'."

After a game of beer pong, Charlotte revealed she called off her engagement to a man after a serious car accident and discussed the relationships with women she’s had since then.
