Linda Robson admitted that her social media addiction nearly "ended her marriage" to Mark Dunford after she found herself spending more time on her phone rather than with him.

Speaking on Thursday's episode of Loose Women, the panellist, 63, discussed whether parents can "take back control of our kids' social media?" with her fellow co-stars.

Talking about her own experiences with social media, Linda candidly admitted: "It is really addictive. I was addicted to social media, do you remember?"

To which host Nadia Sawalha recalled: "You were the worst!"

Linda continued: "I couldn't go anywhere without my phone. I'd wake up in the middle of the night and be looking at social media. I mean, it nearly ended my marriage because we'd be sitting watching a film and I'd be on my phone.

"He'd be like: 'Are you going to watch with me or not?' and then he'd go out, he'd get the hump."

Linda has been married to Mark since 1990 and they share daughter Roberta (Bobbie), 25, and son Louis, 29. She also has daughter Lauren, 38, from a previous relationship.

The star has previously spoke about how her obsession with social media left her fearing to use her phone after she decided to put her mobile down for 12 months after a "really tough" year.

Speaking in January 2020, after returning to Loose Women following a break where she struggled with a secret battle with anxiety, depression and OCD, Linda said that she had come off all social media.

She said at the time: "I came off all social media and put my phone down for a year, cos I'd had a really tough year that year.

"When they said to me, the family, 'Well you're gonna have to get your phone back now cos you're going back to work, and you need to get emails and everything'.

"It made me really anxious because I thought, 'Oh no, here it goes' because I thought I was gonna get addicted to the phone, addicted to social media, and most of the family are as well."

Linda added: "You do think you're missing out, you're missing things, You wanna see what everyone is doing, the nice things."

Talking about giving over control to someone else, she said: "I've done that, I've actually given my daughter Bobbie the role of taking on my social media.
