The Love Island final is rapidly approaching, with the champions being crowned in less than three weeks time and more contestants will be getting the boot in upcoming episodes of the ITV reality show.
One of this year’s islanders who won’t be there will be 21-year-old Lucie, who failed to find love after initially coupling up with Joe Garratt, 22, later going on to show interest in Tommy Fury, 20.
Although Lucie tried to move on with Casa Amor bombshell George Rains, 22, her head struggled to be turned from Tommy, who recently made things official with girlfriend Molly-Mae Hague, 20.
Young lovebirds Tommy and Molly-Mae seem to be going down a storm with fans, with Coral bookmakers putting their chances at winning the show at 1-9, but Lucie has other ideas.
Anton and Belle could win
Since recently coupling up with Belle Hassan, 21, after weeks of being single, Anton Danyluk, 24, seems to be the dark horse of this year’s series.
“I think Anton and Belle could win. Anton really likes Belle and Belle really likes Anton,” Lucie explained following her exit from the show.
“It’s taken Anton a long time to find a girl in there, he’s had a tough time and I’m so glad that a girl has come in who is his type, fun and bubbly and they really enjoy each other’s company.
“I can’t wait to see them grow,” the dumped islander continued, so could Tommy and Molly-Mae soon find their winning spot jeopardised as a new power couple emerge?
With regards to her feelings about Tommy, Lucie added: “Me and Tommy will always be best friends. I’ve had best friends and then dated them and then still been best friends after.
“You’ll always have a love for a best friend whether it’s a boy or a girl but at times it can mean different things.”
Lucie continued: “I feel like we’ll see what happens on the outside and how those guys will go but never say never, if we did come to that romantic stage in a few years and me and Tommy were still friends, you never know.”
Another surprise exit from the show which aired tonight saw flight attendant Amy Hart, 27, pack her bags and leave the villa.
Amy had been coupled up with Dancing With The Stars Ireland heartthrob Curtis Pritchard, 23, but after the ferocious backlash of Casa Amor, the pair parted ways.
With just weeks to go before the final, Amy came to the conclusion she wasn’t going to find love again in the villa in the short time the islanders had left.
Speaking of her decision, Amy said: “I have been on such a huge journey… I did not imagine that first night I would meet this boy [Curtis] that would change my life and change my mindset.”
Amy’s exit comes just days after Maura Higgins, 28, told her she had feelings for Curtis and had done so since she arrived in the villa as a latecomer, a revelation which left the heartbroken islander riled.
However, going back on her initial comments, Amy said: “I want him [Curtis] to be happy and I want him to meet someone else so I’m leaving here today not holding any grudges against anyone, not against Curtis, not against Maura, no one.
“I never thought I would fall in love, I never thought someone would make me feel so special that I would fall in love with them and I did and it makes me realise that that will happen for me again, just not in here.”
With five islanders gone in a matter of hours, the villa welcomed two new bombshells tonight in the form of Chris Taylor, 28, and Francesca Allen, 23.
Who’s heads will the newbies turn and could love once again be on the horizon for Amber Gill, 21, in light of the latest arrival stirring the pot?
Love Island continues tomorrow night at 9pm on ITV2.
