Love Island fans have been questioning Luca Bish’s age after they spotted a tattoo above his stomach.

The script, written in a gothic font, reads the year 1995, but the star has told bosses he is 23-years-old.

While fans could be watching Luca get close to stunning co-star Paige Thorne, instead they can't help but query his ink – particularly the one which reads 1995.

Fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts – and one sceptic thinks he might be a different age, writing: "When you get 1995, four years before you were born, tattooed on your stomach… is Luca 23 or actually 27?"

Another wrote: "Surely Luca should be 26/27?"

A third said: “Luca’s got a 1995 tattoo and says he’s 23. I don’t know, I’m not the best at maths, but something is suspicious.”

Another chimed in: “Can someone please explain why Luca, a 23-year-old, has a 1995 tattoo”.

However, it seems that Luca's inking might not be him hiding his true age…

After the person who is in charge of his Instagram while he’s in the villa hosted a question and answer session on his account, it was revealed that the tattoo was for his sister, who was born in 1995.

The pair have a close bond and his sibling even hosted a celebratory party on the day of the first episode.

ITV2 aired the first programme of the 2022 series on 6 June and his Instagram was inundated with well wishes from friends and family.

Words of support were reposted to his Instagram story including videos of his family’s launch night party, complete with personalised cake, balloons and decorations to commemorate the event.

One envious fan shared clips from the story and tweeted: “Luca Bish and his sister’s bond makes me question if my siblings even love me. He has a tattoo of her date of birth, she literally got him a whole detailed cake to celebrate him going on Love Island and calls him her baby. If this isn’t the cutest thing ever.”

Bish discussed his tattoos with RadioTimes.com and explained that his ex-girlfriend was a tattoo artist, so the star took on the role of her personal “colouring book” to practice on.

He also said that they are “very random” and that there “isn’t a lot of meaning behind them”.
