Love Island star Tasha Ghouri, 23, dated a Netflix’s Too Hot To Handle contestant Robert Van Tromp three months before going into the villa.
Dancer Tasha, who is the show’s first deaf Islander, met Robert, 30, in October last year and the pair were together for five months.
Their relationship ended in March, just three months before Tasha was announced for the ITV2 series, reports the Daily Mail.
A source revealed: “Robert is gutted after seeing Tasha on Love Island. She ticks all his boxes, and he had hoped to reconnect with her after regretting their break-up."
Robert told Access All Areas: “I wouldn’t say it’s civil. I think the break-up was civil but we certainly have different interests and priorities in life. I think that has potentially hindered any kind of friendship moving forward.”
Robert was last in a relationship with his former Too Hot to Handle co-star Christina Carmela after they met on the show.
They split in September 2021, a month before Robert met Tasha on a dating app.
On Monday’s (June 6) first episode of the new series, Tasha told her fellow Islanders she was born deaf and her use of a cochlea implant.

She told the Daily Mail before going into the villa: “I had hearing aids until I was five, but hearing aids did not benefit me whatsoever.
“‘The cochlear implant is surgically done and it’s much more advanced than a hearing aid.”
“Growing up I had to overcome a lot of obstacles, I’ve had speech therapy, a lot of hearing rehab but overcoming those obstacles has made me who I am today.”
Love Island continues on weekdays at 9pm on ITV2 or on the ITV Hub.
