Proud Patsy Palmer is all smiles as she celebrates daughter's high school graduation with her family

PATSY Palmer couldn’t have looked prouder as she celebrated her daughter’s US high school graduation yesterday.

The 47-year-old shared a series of pictures as Emilia Merkell, 17, collected her diploma at Malibu High School.

The EastEnders actress was joined by her husband Richard Merkell, 54 and sons Fenton, 18, and Bertie, 8, at the ceremony.

Alongside her pictures, Patsy told fans: “This is US 2019 … so proud of @emiliamerkell.”

Emilia, who will be going to university in New York,  recently admitted she felt more at home in the US, despite moving there just five years ago.

She told Tatler: “I don’t really feel like I lived in England; I was still a baby when I was there. LA is where I’ve spent my formative years.”

The aspiring model also revealed she is best mates with Cindy Crawford’s daughter Kaia Gerbr, saying: “She was one of my first friends at school, I love her.”

Patsy and her family moved to LA in 2014 after she quit her role as Bianca Jackson in EastEnders.

She will however he returning to the show for a "blistering storyline" this autumn.

Patsy's return to the Square will see Bianca reunite with her troubled daughter Tiffany Butcher (Maisie Smith), who has had a rough ride recently after she became embroiled in a county lines drug trafficking gang.

Bianca first arrived in Albert Square in 1993 and was known for her relationship with Ricky Butcher (Sid Owen), which led to her famous catchphrase "Rickaaay."

The pair's wedding in 1997 pulled in more than 22 million viewers – one of the show's biggest audiences.

Patsy – who quit the show in 1999 before returning for a second stint in 2008 – has covered several hard-hitting storylines during her time on the soap, including being faced with the death of her younger brother Billie Jackson (Devon Anderson), and having to deal with her mum Carol Jackson's (Linda Coulson) cancer diagnosis.
