RAVEN-Symone has revealed the secret behind 40-lb weight loss and the star didn't have to work out slim down.

The former Disney Channel star opened up about the motivation behind her new look as she appeared on Wednesday's The view.

The former The View co-host returned to the 25th season of the show with her wife, Miranda Pearman-Manday.

After a warm welcome back video from current host, Whoopie Goldberg, Raven sat down at the table.

The hosts praised her for her incredible transformation.


The 36-year-old detailed how she went from 210 pounds to 170 pounds while filming Raven's Home.

She kicked sugar out of her diet, which she called an addictive drug.

The Disney Channel star was addicted to it in wheat form and regular form and said it is now out of her body completely.

She joked that she would consume sugar in fish filet sandwiches with ketchup – two on Fridays.

Raven switched to eating whole foods and now does intermittent fasting as well as extended fasting.

She noted that she lost 40 pounds without doing any exercise.

"What made me want to change was her," she pointed to her wife beside her.

"I want to be here for her as long as I can. I found out some numbers at the doctor that were not pleasant for someone in my age bracket—or any age bracket, to be honest with you.

"And with her help, and guidance, and love, and fantastic cooking skills—which everyone here knows—she helped me kick sugar.”

Raven added that she does still enjoy cookies, but that they are keto-friendly.

She also talks to a former colleague at The View about fasting every day, which helps her a lot.


Fans were quick to praise the Cheetah Girls alum for her weight loss.

Commenting on an article chronicling her journey, one Twitter user wrote, "Sugar will do it. Good for her."

Another fan on Facebook joked that they "feel her on the fish filets."
