Stranger Things casts Nightmare on Elm Street's Robert Englund for S4

Stranger Things just got even more iconic after it was revealed Freddy Krueger himself, Robert Englund, has been signed up for season four.

Yep, the Netflix series has added eight new stars to the cast for the upcoming season including The Nightmare on Elm Street legend.

Englund will play Victor Creel, who is described as ‘a disturbed and intimidating man who is imprisoned in a psychiatric hospital for a gruesome murder in the 1950s.’

The actor will be joined by Twilight star Jamie Campbell Bower, who will play Peter Ballard.

The character is described as ‘a caring man who works as an orderly at a psychiatric hospital’ and is ‘tired of the brutality he witnesses day after day.’

Elsewhere Booksmart star Eduardo Franco will Jonathan’s [Charlie Heaton] new best friend Argyle, a fun-loving stoner who delivers pizza pies for Surfer Boy Pizza.

Joseph Quinn from Howards End will play Eddie Munson, an 80’s metalhead who runs The Hellfire Club, Hawkins High’s official D&D club.

According to a press release, Quinn’s character is ‘hated by those who don’t understand him, and beloved by those who do.’

He will ‘find himself at the terrifying epicenter of this season’s mystery’ so keep an eye on his character when then the show kicks off.

The rest of the new cast with recurring roles are Sherman Augustus as Lt. Colonel Sullivan, Mason Dye as Jason Carver, Nikola Djuricko playingYuri, and Tom Wlaschiha starring as play Dmitri.

The show was initially thought to be returning for season four in early 2021, but with production taking an unexpected break during the lockdown, fans will probably have to wait until late next year until Stranger Things returns.
