Gorka Marquez channels inner Ken as movie night approaches
Strictly Come Dancing star Gorka Marquez has been dealt a crushing blow as his dance partner Nikita Kanda is currently the bookmakers’ favourite to be eliminated on Sunday.
Last weekend, Nikita and Gorka landed in the bottom two with Les Dennis and Nancy Xu.
This meant both couples had to perform in the dance-off before the judges made their decision.
However, it was a unanimous vote because all four judges decided to save Nikita, meaning Les was sent home.
In the bookmakers’ latest predictions, this week could be Nikita’s last in the BBC competition due to her choice of dance, the Jive.

The Jive has been responsible for a significant 14.2 percent of eliminations from the popular show in the last five series, making it the second riskiest routine in the show, only behind the Samba.
It’s characterised by its upbeat tempo, sharp kicks, and flicks, making it one of the hardest routines on the Strictly dancefloor.
Whilst the radio presenter is not the only contestant who will be performing the routine this weekend, with Adam Thomas and current outright favourite Nigel Harman also braving the dance, Nikita’s underwhelming scores of 18 across both weeks so far puts her in a precarious position ahead of Sunday’s second elimination.
Contestants have struggled with the dance in recent years, with Matt Goss, Adam Peaty and Ellie Taylor having been eliminated on the back of performing it.

Nikita will therefore need to work on her precision and endurance to avoid falling into the Jive’s elimination trap, and is the firm favourite to be axed this weekend with odds of 2/1.
William Hill spokesperson, Lee Phelps, said: “The Jive is often perceived as one of the trickier routines in Strictly Come Dancing, with our research showing that the African American dance has been responsible for more than one in seven Ballroom eliminations since 2018.
“That figure will sound worrying for Nikita Kanda and partner Gorka Marquez, who not only will be performing the Jive on Saturday but are now our firm 1/2 favourites to be the second pair eliminated from the show.
“Kanda’s price to leave this weekend is the lowest price for elimination we’ve had on any contestant so far this series, with Jody Cundy (3/1) and Krishnan Guru-Murthy (9/1) also in the running.”
Strictly Come Dancing returns tonight at 6.20pm on BBC One.
