THE CHASE fans were left open-mouthed as they watched Darragh Ennis get trounced in a humiliating triple defeat.
Wednesday's edition of the ITV quizzing show saw the Irish scientist 'lose the plot' with a series of wrong answers.
The Chaser, dubbed Darragh 'The Menace' Ennis, was faced by Paul, Lynsey and Sarah in the shocking final chase.
His lack of knowledge saw the trio leave with £11,000 after Darragh suffered multiple pushbacks.
The contestants had answered 16 correct questions in the allocated time.
As Darragh prepared to take his turn, host Bradley Walsh commented: "It's been a winning score before – but it's low."
There was shock all round as Darragh gave an incorrect answer for the second question and then it went downhill from there.
The 41-year-old opened the door to a massive eight pushbacks – five of which his challengers answered correctly.
One of them included the question: "The LMS Jubilee Class was what type of transport?"
To which Darragh replied "ship", while the threesome stole the point by answering "train" correctly.
Congratulating the team, Bradley commented: "Eight pushbacks, five executed – you needed pushbacks."
While Darragh sheepishly admitted he'd "got a few wrong".
One viewer wrote on Twitter: "The Chaser had a true shocker there, the team deserved the win… #thechase.”
Another added: "Poor Darragh lost the plot which is unusual."
A third quipped: "The menace ain’t on fire tonight, what is goin on #TheChase."
"Time to get rid of Darren as a Chaser on the Chase….very poor," one harshly stated.
Another viewer tweeted: "Blimey darragh, not your best day today #TheChase".
The Chase airs weekdays 5pm on ITV.
