The Chase fans and Bradley Walsh could not contain their laughter after one crude question seemed to take the host and viewers alike by complete surprise on Thursday's episode (June 23).

Brad, 62, fella bout laughing as the answers to question: "Which of these is NOT a genuine species of starfish?"

As the iconic host couldn't even finish his sentence as the giggles seemed to take over.

He said: "A. Goose foot starfish, B. Red-knobbed starfish, C. Chocolate star….," he chuckled away unable to continue with the show.

According to the Urban Dictionary, "a chocolate starfish refers to the appearance of the butthole".

Things were made worse when contestant Charles and chaser Anne Hegerty – who is better known as The Governess on the programme – actually answered "C. Chocolate starfish," with chaotic laughter erupting in the studio.

As it happens, it did in fact turn out to be the actual answer which saw Twitter come alive with commentary from fans who were also in hysterics.

Some online users even claimed they were "struggling to breathe" because they had been laughing so much.

One person penned: "CHOCOLATE STARFISH, I can’t breathe. And neither can Bradley #TheChase."

A second chimed: "Chocolate starfish! Ooh, matron! LOL #thechase."

While the laughter emoji swarmed across the platform with "The Chase" and "chocolate starfish" hash-tagged on the trending platform.

Other quipped: "Chocolate starfish Hahahaha," "#TheChase LOL yes I am twelve," and "Chocolate starfish lol!! #TheChase."

Meanwhile, after the giggles had eased Bradley was able to carry on as the quiz master on the popular ITV favourite.

However, the Governess appeared to be on fine form wiping out every single player with the exception of Charles.

It's hard for players to go it alone but Charles wasn't going down without a fight and put forward 15 correct answers all on his own.

There was a tense battle between the chaser and the quizzer with Charles executing two push-backs correctly.

Although, it wasn't quite enough for Charles to take away the £5,000 as he was caught with one second remaining on the clock.

The Chase airs weekdays on ITV from 5pm.
