This Morning’s Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary had their ‘first tiff’ on today’s programme just days after they revealed they had an off-air confrontation.
The presenters, who are hosting the ITV daytime programme all this week as Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield enjoy a well-earned break over the half-term holiday, locked horns as Alison was upset that Dermot doesn’t watch her videos on social media.
It all kicked off when Dermot referenced a clip that Alison had posted on her way back from Portugal, which saw her telling cabin crew that she was Covid negative.
‘I know for a fact you didn’t watch the video to know that I didn’t sneeze,’ Alison said.
Turning to the camera, she continued: ‘He always watches my videos but he doesn’t watch until the end because he gets bored.’
‘I watch the first five seconds so I get the gist,’ offered Dermot.
But Alison wasn’t impressed and hit back: ‘That’s not enough. If you’re going to watch my videos, you’ve got to watch them until the end, Babes.’
‘How long are they all?’ Dermot asked.
‘Most of the time just a minute,’ Alison replied. ‘Have you not got a minute of my time? I feel like this is our first tiff live on the air to the nation.’
She added: ‘I watch your videos.’
Last week, Alison confirmed that there were a few things that got under her and Dermot’s skin while presenting This Morning.
‘But we told each other what we don’t like, we were so honest with each other and I think that’s why it worked,’ she said.
‘We had a few private chats – “I don’t like this about you; well I don’t like this when you do such and such.”
Their tiff comes after Monday’s show where Alison said she ‘doesn’t want to die’ as she shared her concerns about getting the coronavirus vaccine.
‘I’m so worried about the vaccine myself because I really don’t want to get a blood clot, because I’m really enjoying this job and everything it’s absolutely amazing,’ she said.
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
