Accused Atlanta spa shooter Robert Aaron Long has been officially kicked out of his Georgia church, which called the massacre “the result of a sinful heart” and “antithetical to everything that we believe and teach as a church.”
Crabapple First Baptist Church, which condemned the shootings last week, said in a statement that Long is now permanently off its membership rolls, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
The church, in the Atlanta suburb of Milton, was where Long had been a lifelong member. But after the shootings, it said, “We can no longer affirm that he is truly a regenerate believer in Jesus Christ.”
Long, 21, is charged with eight counts of murder and one count of aggravated assault for the bloody shooting spree that left eight dead and one wounded.
He blamed the shooting spree on his sex addiction, according to Cherokee County investigators.
