Inspirational moment a boy with no arms lands a 20-inch box jump after failing three times – before bursting into tears with joy at a camp for disabled athletes

  • ‘Jump up on that box now!’ one coach tells him as two others stand watch on  
  • Tim jumps high, but didn’t make it onto the box; he then tried a second time 
  • ‘All the people who told you you can’t. Jump on it now,’ his coach encourages
  • He was unsuccessful second and third time, but fourth time he lands 20-inch box
  • Tim was met with cheers from his coaches as he overcame self-doubt 

This is the inspirational moment a boy with no arms landed a 20-inch box jump after trying and failing three times.

Tim, who was at the NubAbility Athletics camp in Du Quoin, Illinois, was recorded as his coaches pushed him to overcome his fear and self-doubt.

‘Jump up on that box now!’ one coach tells Tim as two others stand beside him. 

Tim jumps high, but does not make it onto on the box. 

‘On the box. Do it again,’ his coach urges. Tim tries for a second time and is unsuccessful.

Tim, who was at the NubAbility Athletics camp in Du Quoin, Illinois, was recorded as his coaches pushed him to overcome his fear of self-doubt. Tim tried two times before getting frustrated

He then tried for a third time, managed to plant one foot on the box but doesn’t completely make it. He yells and turns to walk away (pictured) when his other two coaches encourage him to try again

The fourth time, Tim is triumphant.

He lands the 20-inch box and is met with cheers from multiple coaches in the room.

NubAbility Athletics later shared tweeted about Tim and shared a photo of him standing on the box. 

‘We coach our kids they are God’s art. Psalms 139:13-16. We coach them to own their differences & to shine regardless of stares, stupid or mean things said to them,’ the tweet reads.

‘We are done with the world telling our youth athletes who they are,’ NubAbility Athletics added. 

Tim’s video has more than 264,000 views on Instagram. 

The video was shared by one of his coaches, Brad Vinyard, who wrote in the caption that’s Tim overcoming his fear was one of his favorite moments at the camp.
