Dog tired! Driver struggles to move mutt lying in the middle of the road
- Brown Aspin named Aofsie lazing in the sun outside shelter in southern Thailand
- A car approaches but the dog is too tired and comfortable to get up for it to pass
- Bas Ronnapoom, 25, officer at the shelter, is forced to try to get the dog to move
A lazy dog took a nap in the middle of a road and refused to move for an approaching car – even when another man tried to usher her away.
The brown Aspin named Aofsie is basking in the midday sun when a car approaches in Hat Yai city, southern Thailand on Sunday.
Even when the passenger leans out the window to shout at the dog to move she remains lying where she is.
In fact, other than looking up when the car first approaches before swiftly resting her head back on the concrete, the dog makes it clear she will not be disturbed.
The passenger is forced to get out of the car to try to get the dog to move but stops when Bas Ronnapoom, an officer at the foundation, comes out to poke her with his foot.
CCTV footage shows how the brown pooch starts wagging her tail to greet the man.
But when he tries to pick her up she lowers herself down further and will not be moved.

Stubborn Aofsie only slightly changes her sleeping position and insists on staying.
Bas then asks a colleague in the building to help him.
Finally, the dog is moved when Bas’ no-nonsense workmate picks the dog up by its front and back legs and neatly places her away from the road.

Bas, 25, says Aofsie is a smart and friendly dog who loves to spend her days lazily lying in the sun.
The rescue officer said: ‘She’s a smart girl and everyone here loves playing with her.
‘When the street was quiet, she often came to sleep in front of the entrance.
‘Normally, she would get up right away anytime we told her to but I guess she was just too lazy to move that day.’
