A PASSENGER who doesn’t know how to fly incredibly managed to land a plane after the pilot fell unconscious.
The unnamed passenger was flying in the Cessna 208 Caravan from the Bahamas to Florida when the mid-air drama unfolded.
He radioed traffic control in Fort Pierce to tell them about the potentially life-threatening emergency.
Professional pilots have described the landing by a someone without any experience as remarkable.
"I've got a serious situation here," the unidentified passenger said in the audio, according to LiveATC.net audio.
"My pilot has gone incoherent, and I have no idea how to fly the airplane."

The air traffic controller then calmly began to give the pilot instructions on landing the plane.
"Try to hold the wings level and see if you can start descending for me.
“Push forward on the controls and descend at a very slow rate,” the air traffic controller can be heard telling the man.
"Try to follow the coast either north or southbound. We're trying to locate you."

The remarkably calm passenger spent around four minutes working out what to do and asks “have you guts located me yet”.
“I can't even get my nav screen to turn on. It has all the information on it. You guys have any ideas on that?”
Controllers managed to locate the plane flying off the coast of Boca Raton and air traffic control at Palm Beach airport managed guide him how to land the plane.
"You just witnessed a couple of passengers land that plane," the tower operator can be heard telling an American Airlines pilot waiting to take off for Charlotte, North Carolina.
"Did you say the passengers landed the airplane? Oh, my God. Great job," he replied.
According to ABC News, the controller involved is a certified flight instructor with experience working with Cessna aircrafts.
The pilot was taken to the hospital, though his condition remains unknown.
Justin Dalmolin, a Jet Blue pilot, was told to wait while the unnamed man landed, and said he was astonished he managed to do so.
“The level of difficulty that this person had to deal with in terms of having zero flight time to fly and land a single engine turbine aircraft is absolutely incredible,” he told ABC 25.
John Nance, an aviation expert, said landing of such a complex plane by someone without any flying history was a remarkable feat.

“This is the first time I've ever heard of one of these being landed by somebody that has no aeronautical experience,' Nance said.
“The person on the airplane who had no aeronautical experience listened very carefully and obviously followed instructions with great calm. That's what made the difference.”
