Israel launched another round of heavy airstrikes in Gaza early Monday morning — hours after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu signaled the attacks would continue.

The strikes, carried out by Israeli warplanes, struck several locations in Gaza over the course of 10 minutes.

The Israel Defense Forces, in a brief statement, said “fighter jets are striking terror targets in the Gaza Strip.”

Hamas also continued their offensive, launching rockets from Gaza toward civilian areas in Israel.

One rocket struck a synagogue in the southern city of Ashkelon shortly before evening services for the Jewish holiday of Shavuot.

No injuries were reported in the synagogue strike.

Hours before Israel’s airstrikes, Netanyahu said attacks in Gaza were pressing on at “full-force and would “take time.”

Israel “wants to levy a heavy price” on the Hamas militant group, Netanyahu said in the televised address.
