This is the incredible moment a linesman knocked out an abusive pitch invader who criticised his officiating during a football match.
The sickening incident happened at a game in Brazil that saw Sport Club Bauru go 4-2 down to rivals Atlético Itumbiara in the third round of an amateur cup competition on Saturday.
The man who was watching his side lose had been swearing at the assistant referees and throwing missiles from the stands throughout the game, according to reports.
He then ran onto the field in the 82nd minute and jabbed his finger at the linesman as he berated him.
He also shoved him in the chest during the heated exchange in Itumbiara, Goiás.
The furious linesman then launched a savage attack on the supporter – knocking him out cold with a devastating punch to the jaw.
This sparked a pitch invasion as friends of the battered fan rushed onto the field and started attacking the linesman, forcing players to intervene.
Some of the players hurry to defend the match officials, while others go to aid of the injured fan – who remains motionless throughout.
It took 30 minutes for the referee to regain control before play was able to resume.
The game ended 4-2.
According to reports, the fan is not thought to have been seriously hurt and left the stadium by himself.
Social media viewers had little sympathy for him.
Evandro Jose Almeida called it: "Deserved."
Ronaldo Coelho wrote: "The linesman was too patient."
And Gustavo Neves said: "Much better than the Champions League final and the price to watch is good too."
Samuel Rosa, president of the local refereeing association, told O Popular the unruly supporter had been cursing at the officials for most of the game and had "thrown glasses" at them.
He claimed the linesman will make a police report about the incident today.
Footage of the bizarre incident went viral on social media over the weekend with more than 360,000 views.
