A tiny studio flat in London, which has an oven and fridge next to the bed, is on the market to rent for an eye-watering £1,146.86 a month. 

The property, located in Streatham, South London is described as a ‘studio flat’ and is offered furnished – consisting of a double bed, mattress and a wardrobe.

Described as a ‘delightful’ one bedroom, one bathroom flat, the landlord’s post on the OpenRent website says viewing the property beforehand is ‘highly recommended’.

The website listing says: ‘We are proud to offer this delightful one bedroom, one bathroom studio flat in a great location.’ 

Images of the flat advertise a living space so small that the fridge and cooker are situated just a step away from the bed. 

The studio flat also packs in a tiny bathroom area with the essential toilet, sink and shower. There is also a small mirror above the sink.  

Whilst London rent prices are soaring – this tiny studio still costs £330 more than the average rent for the area, according to rental website SpareRoom. 

Rents in London also reached a new record average of £2,257 a month this quarter.

Annual growth in asking rents in London is now at 15.8 per cent, the fastest ever rate of any region.

The increases are being attributed to a shortage of properties to rent combined with high demand from tenants.  

Despite the small size of the flat, the landlord’s advert suggests that two tenants can live in the property. 

There’s no garden or parking available, however the property is pet friendly.  

Bills are not included, and the deposit is the same as one month’s rent – £1,146.85.

The minimum tenancy agreement is for 12 months and the studio is available to rent now.
