Man stabbed in mass brawl at packed Birmingham hospital A&E sparking lockdown – The Sun

A MAN was stabbed in a mass brawl at a packed Birmingham hospital A&E.

Terrified patients ran for safety after claims a number of men arrived at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and appeared to confront another group inside.

A man was then stabbed in the hand in the confrontation.

Police have now launched an investigation after the brawl broke out just after midnight on Sunday, sparking a lockdown.

A witness told Birmingham Live: "Four men came in via the A&E entrance and confronted another group of men inside, then they all started to fight.

"The fight burst through the rapid assessment doors and that's where the stabbing happened. It all kicked off.

"Police and security were there within a matter of minutes. I only saw one man being arrested and searched before being taken to the police station."

The witness claimed nurses and doctors tried to step in, adding: "Someone was clearly panicking and had a panic attack because of it. There were two young children who saw it – people were moving out of the way, others were trying to break it up."
