A SCHOOL’S teachers gave their ten-year-old pupils Christmas gifts of detective novels filled with sex and swearing.

Girls at Griffin Park Primary each got a book from the Agatha Raisin series packed with sexual references while the boys got Shakespeare.

Mum Laura Bateson posted an Agatha extract online where a character says: “You’re always trying to brush against my boobs, you old perv.”

Other dialogue has someone saying she would “cheerfully p*** on her grave”. Another character is called a “w****r”.

Horrified parents took to social media to slam the “disgusting” gifts from the school after the headteacher made a grovelling online apology.

One outraged mum said: “Is this one of your staff members idea of a sick joke? Disciplinary action needs to be taken for whoever is responsible.”

And Laura Gleave added: “Oh god… Agatha Raisin books aren’t for kids!”

Only children in Year 6 received the books with some mums believing the teacher had not “proof read” the novels before handing them out.
