Robert F. Kennedy’s granddaughter Saoirse, 22, dies of ‘drug overdose’ at family’s Cape Cod compound – The Sun

ROBERT F. Kennedy’s granddaughter Saoirse has died from a suspected drug overdose at her family’s home in Cape Cod, reports claim.

Saoirse Kennedy Hill, 22, is understood to have gone into cardiac arrest at the compound where her grandmother Ethel Kennedy, 91, lives.

Paramedics rushed to the home on Thursday and took her to Cape Cod Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, the New York Times reports.

“Our hearts are shattered by the loss of our beloved Saoirse,” the Kennedy family said in a statement.

“Her life was filled with hope, promise and love.”

Saoirse's grandmother, Ethel Kennedy, said: “The world is a little less beautiful today.”

Boston 25 News, citing a law enforcement source, reported that Hill died from a suspected drug overdose.

"Earlier this afternoon Barnstable Police responded to a residence on Marchant Ave in Hyannisport for a reported unattended death," Cape and Islands Assistant District Attorney Tara Miltimore said in a statement.

"The matter remains under investigation by Barnstable Police and State Police detectives assigned to the District Attorney's Office."

Saoirse was the daughter of Robert and Ethel Kennedy’s fifth child, Courtney, and Paul Michael Hill.

Hill was one of four falsely convicted in the 1974 Irish Republican Army bombings of two pubs.
