Distressing video shows a dog whimpering in fear as it is forced to join the front lines of protests in Minnesota — squealing in pain as some sort of irritant is seemingly sprayed in its eyes.

The pooch was filmed in apparent distress as it was taken into the thick of things in Brooklyn Center on Wednesday, the fourth night of protests over the police-shooting death of Daunte Wright, Newsflare said.

It whimpered and cried as it was taken close to the line of cops in riot gear standing behind a high fence sealing off the city’s police HQ — with protesters screaming “F–k you” at the officers they called “motherf—ers.”

The dog was close to the tense confrontation when it seemed to get sprayed in the eyes, with a protester coming over with a bottle of water, which was poured over its head and face.

It was unclear from the footage if the apparent chemical blast came from cops or protesters.

At least 24 protesters were arrested, as law enforcement said protesters threw water bottles, milk jugs, bricks, rocks, fireworks and other objects at law enforcement and National Guard troops, the Star Tribune said.

Officials in the multi-agency Operation Safety Net insisted that tear gas was not used Wednesday following complaints from the mayor as well as residents living around the protest area, the paper said.
