YouTuber banned for giving homeless man Oreos filled with toothpaste

A YouTuber has been banned from the platform for five years after he filmed himself tricking a homeless person into eating toothpaste filled Oreos.

Kanghua Ren, 21, repackaged the biscuits and gave them to Gheorge L, 52, who was living on the street in Barcelona.

The prankster, who had over 1.2 million subscribers, then told his viewers: ‘Maybe I’ve gone a bit far, but look at the positive side: This will help him clean his teeth.

‘I think he hasn’t cleaned them since he became poor.’

The Oreos caused Gheorge L, originally from Romania, to be physically sick and he told Spanish newspaper El Pais he had ‘never been treated so poorly’ since becoming homeless.

Ren later recorded another video with his victim, saying on camera: ‘People exaggerate over jokes in the street (played) on a beggar, when surely if it’s done to a normal person they wouldn’t say anything.’

He then went back a third time with a friend to try and stay the night with him on the street, but a witness called the police.

At the trial, Ren told the court the video was part of a series of ‘challenges’ and was supposed to be a ‘joke’.

He also filled sandwiches with cat faeces and fed them to schoolchildren and elderly people in another sick prank, the court heard.

Ren was found guilty of violating the ‘moral integrity’ of Gheorge L.

He was handed a 15-month suspended prison sentence and ordered to pay his victim €20,000 (around £17,700), El Pais reports.

The publication states he will also have to erase his YouTube channel ‘ReSet’ and will not be allowed to make another one for five years.
